Here are the first 3 stylish tips to get you started, check back in for Friday’s post to get the others.
Hosiery – For me, even in Palm Beach, the addition of a black opaque tight can ramp up any mainstream dress or look to a whole new au courant level. Pair up with a flirty floral number by day, sexy mini by night. If you feel as though the dark tight might be a bit too much for you, try this season’s very trend-on legging. There are so many to choose from, cotton to leather, solid to embellished, just be sure that you select a pair that is ankle length, nothing above. A great alternative for evening is this season’s french dot hosiery which was brilliantly showcased at Balenciaga. This look is the epitome of sophistication and one that I’m most looking forward to trying. And don’t be shy about wearing open toe heels with tights or hosiery. Just be sure that you select a seamless style.

Statement Necklace - Those that read The DL on a regular basis know by now my love of a great statement necklace. This is the easiest way to update any look day or night. And the best part is that you can get away with having just a few varieties of options to work into your wardrobe day to eve, work to weekend. I’ll rock out the same necklace by day with jeans, a tee and blazer, and by night with a great dress and skyscraper heels. The trick for me is to select jewelry pieces that are neutral in color, my favorites being a combination of both gold and silver. That way the piece will go with virtually everything in your wardrobe. And right now the bigger the better.

Ankle Boot – This season I can’t get enough of the ankle boot, it just seems so apropos with absolutely everything, shorts, jeans, dresses, jumpers, skirts, I really could go on and on. The hardest part won’t be finding something to wear them with, it will be deciding which pair I love the most. Have fun with this very right now look. The key is to keep your overall ensemble polished and to the point. If your curious, yet a bit intimidated to try the ankle boot, look to your favorite magazines to see how fashion editors are showcasing this key trend for the season. I’m loving this boot dressy and casual, in both warm and cool climates. Try with jeans, a thin sock, tights, leggings or even a bare leg. Pair up this boot with literally everything to give your current wardrobe a fresh take for the new cooler season.
